In 1923, 23 winegrowers joined forces to establish Cantina Girlan, housed in an old farmhouse dating back to the 16th century. With the laying of the first stones, a rich history of passion and dedication to producing high-quality wines began. Today, the walls of this historic farmhouse, steeped in ancient traditions, house state-of-the-art winemaking technology and offer ideal conditions for aging the wines. In the heart of Alto Adige, where the soils are rich in minerals, Cantina Girlan uses only the finest grape varieties to produce the most distinctive wines. Girlan 448 slm Rosso is a blend of the three main grape varieties from the growing region: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Pinot Noir. The soils in which the vines are planted are rich in minerals. The grapes are hand-harvested and placed in small containers to avoid excessive pressure. They are then destemmed, and the must undergoes slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. After primary fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and aging in concrete vats. The combination of these processes results in a balanced wine with intense aromas and flavors that reflect the characteristics of the terroir.
