In the heart of the Prosecco region lies the Bellussi winery. The Bellussi vineyards are located in the town of Valdobbiadene, considered the finest Prosecco wine region. It was founded in 1993 by Enrico Martellozzo, who, after a long search, began crafting the finest Italian sparkling wines. He wanted his range to compete with Champagne, and Enrico more than succeeded. He increased the region's reputation and further enhanced the quality of his Proseccos. The winery owes its name to the term "bellussare," which refers to a special pruning technique used in the Vento region.

The old vineyard of Bellussi

The old, thick trunks are in magnificent condition and are currently producing a top harvest. The Glera grapes used for this prosecco grow in a warm climate. The abundant sunshine allows the grapes to ripen easily, and the fresh breeze blowing beneath the vines provides the necessary cooling. This makes the growing season for this Bellussi Prosecco brut very consistent, allowing the harvest to be brought in early.

What does Bellussi Prosecco Brut taste like?

Upon opening the Champagne cork, it immediately releases a powerful aroma of apple, citrus, and freshly baked bread. In the glass, this prosecco is a light yellow with a subtle green shimmer. The beautiful, soft bubbles burst through the glass, captivating our senses. Nosing the glass, we smell a rich bouquet of exotic fruit and green apple, along with a touch of citrus and minerals. The mousse (bubbles) is very soft and gives the prosecco a unique mouthfeel, with lovely fruity aromas of apple, pear, melon, and lime! A truly delicious glass of prosecco!
