On the beautiful Western Cape in South Africa, we find the Teezen winery. A relatively young winery, but with a long track record. They make wines that will make any wine lover dance. Well, we'd love to try it, and indeed, the stories aren't just fairy tales, but facts that will make you jump for joy. The Teezen winemaker, with his Sauvignon Blanc, knows how to make clusters of beautifully fresh wine, something that will truly touch us as wine lovers.

The harvest of the Sauvignon Blanc

The vineyards are spread along the west coast of South Africa. The Sauvignon Blanc vineyards are situated at a considerable altitude, providing the bunches with ample sunshine, allowing them to ripen beautifully, but also the necessary cooling. The coolness comes from the sea breeze, ensuring the harvest receives ample freshness. The sharp drop in nighttime temperatures further ensures the right balance in the growing process. After a long growing season, the bunches are brought in at night, essentially while they are dormant. This minimizes the risk of bruising compared to the afternoon. Every effort is made to ensure this wine shines.

What does Teezen Sauvignon Blanc taste like?

It shines in the glass as well, revealing a beautiful, clear color with green glints. It's bursting with fruit, and we noted hints of gooseberry, green fig, and some citrus on the nose. On the palate, the palate is pampered by soft, fresh fruit notes like lime, gooseberry, passion fruit, and green apple. A touch of green herb on the cheeks completes the whole experience.
