The 2022 vintage in South Africa received an excellent rating of 92 points according to the Robert Parker Vintage Chart. The wines from this year are described as high-quality and still youthful in character.
Take note, because this Chardonnay has it all! Full and ripe, with beautiful oak aromas. The Teezen winery is still relatively young, but it has already made many wine lovers dance. That's why the label depicts a famous dance. Well, we wanted to experience it too, and yes, not a fairy tale, but a beautiful, classical dance that will surprise you every time.
Wood aging for the Teezen Chardonnay
Making good wine all starts in the vineyards, explains the winemaker at Teezen. Their Chardonnay vineyards are spread across the Western Cape. The climate here is perfect, with plenty of sunshine, cool breezes, and falling nighttime temperatures. This results in a long and balanced aging process, resulting in a ripe and full harvest. The harvest is harvested at night to minimize bruising during transport. When the bunches arrive at Teezen, they are thoroughly inspected, and only the finest are ultimately pressed. The golden juice then matures for several months in French oak barrels, developing its full character.Creamy and full this white wine
Now we open the bottle and immediately smell a powerful aroma. Beautiful nuances of cedarwood, tropical fruit, and vanilla. As we pour, we see a deep yellow color with a golden sheen. It clings to the glass and flows beautifully down the glass. We're transported to South Africa, as the aroma is intense with plenty of tropical fruit. Beautiful notes of woody aromas and vanilla. The palate does a little dance, the tongue being pampered by an oily texture accompanied by tropical and exotic fruit. On the back of the tongue, some spice and a hint of cedarwood. On the cheeks, a light spiciness and, of course, a hint of citrus. The finish is long with caramel aromas and a touch of hazelnuts.Product details
