A unique wine from a unique winery. Creativity reigns supreme with this red wine. The winery behind this red wine is Proyecto Garnachas. This winery isn't focusing on a specific region, but on a unique grape: Garnacha. After Tempranillo, it's perhaps the most famous red grape of the Iberian Peninsula. Proyecto Garnachas wanted to pay tribute to this grape. Small vineyards planted with Garnacha were revived by the winery, and today, they produce the most exquisite wines.
The vineyards of La Garnatxa Salvaje Moncayo
The Proyecto Garnachas winery is originally located in the Ebro Valley, just northwest of Zaragoza. The Ebro Valley forms the heart of the renowned Rioja region. However, the winery wanted more. This red wine is made from Garnacha grapes, sourced from the deep south of Spain, near the majestic El Moncayo mountain. The region is rocky and very rugged. The Garnacha grapes ripen slowly here. The harvest doesn't take place until mid-October. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are slowly fermented.
