2021 was een uitdagend maar veelbelovend jaar voor de wijnbouw in Denemarken, gekenmerkt door een koel klimaat. De omstandigheden leidden tot wijnen met een uitgesproken frisheid en levendige zuren.

In picturesque Røsnæs, an area characterized by its lush landscapes and pristine coastline, lies the heart of Danish wine production: Dyrehojgaard. While the estate has a rich history dating back a century as a traditional farm, it has recently been transformed into Denmark's largest vineyard.

The best wine from Denmark

In 2007, Tom Christensen took a leap of faith by purchasing Dyrehojgaard. With a passion for wine and a vision for Røsnæs, he planted the first vines in 2008. The choice fell primarily on Solaris and Cabernet Cortis grapes, selected in collaboration with the renowned Staatliches Weinstitut (State Wine Institute) in Freiburg, Germany. Fast-forward to today, and Dyrehojgaard's vineyards stretch across approximately 10 hectares, dotted with over 40,000 vines. With this, it proudly claims the title of Denmark's largest wine producer. While several grape varieties are grown there, such as Muscaris, Johanniter, and Souvignier Gris, it is the Solaris grape that takes center stage in today's journey: the enchanting white wine, RÖS Solaris.
