Vintage Report

The 2021 vintage in Barossa and McLaren Vale received an excellent rating of 93 points. The wines from this vintage are very approachable and relatively early drinking.
The Langmeil Hangin' Snakes Shiraz is a new style of wine made with 95 percent Shiraz and 5 percent Viognier. Both grape varieties are processed and fermented together, beautifully highlighting their respective flavor profiles. This blend creates a truly unique red wine.

Interesting wines from Langmeil

The Barossa wine region is one of Australia's oldest growing regions. In the south of the country, about 70 kilometers northeast of Adelaide, fine wines mature in a Mediterranean climate. The region owes its reputation primarily to Shiraz. The exceptionally old vines, also owned by the Langmeil winery, guarantee the highest quality. Langmeil has been growing wine since the 1840s. German immigrant Christian Auricht planted the first vines—of course, Shiraz. It is said to be one of the oldest Shiraz-growing regions in the world, and it continues to bear fruit to this day. Langmeil's goal is to create wines that are interesting and have a pedigree. This Hangin' Snakes is a prime example. The powerful Hangin' Snakes Shiraz Viognier Barossa Valley from South Australia is based on Syrah and Viognier grapes. After being hand-picked, the grapes arrive at the winery as quickly as possible. Here, they are sorted and carefully pressed. Fermentation then takes place at controlled temperatures. Afterward, the Hangin' Snakes Shiraz Viognier Barossa Valley is aged for several months in oak barrels.

A red wine from the New World

This dense and velvety red wine is powerful and complex on the palate. This New World red wine has wonderfully expressive aromas of cherries, blueberries, black cherries, and plums, rounded out with notes of oriental spices, gingerbread spice, and vanilla, which contribute to the expansion in the oak barrel. With its vibrant fruit acidity, the Hangin' Snakes Shiraz Viognier Barossa Valley is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this red wine from the South Australian wine region, specifically the Barossa, finally impresses with remarkable resonance. It pairs perfectly with rice dishes and poultry.
