L'Avenir Winery has an impressive track record. Originally founded by the Dutch at the end of the 17th century, the winery remained relatively unimportant for nearly 300 years. Only in 1992 did L'Avenir become a serious competitor to other South African wineries. It began specializing primarily in two grape varieties, two crucial to South Africa's winemaking heritage: Chenin Blanc and Pinotage. This proved to be a golden opportunity for L'Avenir.

During the 1990s, L'Avenir grew from a simple winery to a leading winery. This led to awards including "Best Chenin Blanc in South Africa." The winemakers at L'Avenir have continued to develop their wines ever since, including this L'Avenir Provenance Chenin Blanc. A wine made from the finest Chenin Blanc grapes Stellenbosch has to offer. L'Avenir further demonstrates the suitability of Chenin Blanc. After hand-picking and strict selection, the juice is aged in oak for an impressive 6 to 9 months. A success! And it was recently rewarded again.
