Vintage Report

The 2021 vintage for white wines from Trentino-Alto Adige received an excellent rating of 94 points from Robert Parker. The wines from this year are of excellent quality and currently perfectly drinkable.
Andrian's flagship white wine! Cantina Andrian, located in Alto-Adige, northern Italy, is releasing two different wines made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc: the floral Floreado and the estate's flagship Sauvignon Blanc, the Andrius. For this variety, the grapes are harvested late, making them richer and fuller-bodied.

Quality wines from Cantina Andrian

Cantina Andriano is one of the oldest cooperatives in the Alto-Adige region, founded in 1893. In 2008, they joined forces with Cantina Terlano and, under new management and a new winemaking team with Rudy Kofler at the helm, they began reducing yields and significantly increased the quality of their wines. Purity, finesse, a mineral core, and terroir-driven are all words that embody the wines of Cantina Andriano. This Andrius wine uses very low yields in the vineyard to create a powerful and full-bodied Sauvignon Blanc. This gives this white wine considerable depth and complexity. Fermentation of the grapes takes place at a low temperature in stainless steel. Thirty percent of the wine is then aged in large wooden vats, with the remainder on the lees in stainless steel. A beautiful blend that gives the wine exceptional complexity, without the oak dominating at any point. A Sauvignon Blanc with a unique personality: opulent, ripe, and powerful.

A voluminous and powerful Sauvignon Blanc

The Andrius is straw yellow in color with a greenish tinge, boasting highly complex aromas with the typical flavors of gooseberries, peaches, and elderberries. On the palate, this magnificent Sauvignon is voluminous and powerful, with juicy acidity and a lingering finish. A Sauvignon reminiscent of the quartz of the Cantina Terlan, yet simultaneously independent and individual, reflecting the terroir of the vineyards—undoubtedly a great Sauvignon!
