The most famous grape variety in the world, produced by the finest and largest winery in the Côtes de Gascogne. The winery was founded in 1912 in Eauze, a village in the heart of the Côtes de Gascogne. This area is traditionally renowned for the production of Armagnac, a distillate made from grape residue. However, when dry white wines emerged in this region, Yves Grasse, the third generation at Domaine du Tariquet, began planting white grape varieties. This proved to be a resounding success, as today, Domaine du Tariquet is the largest producer of white wines in this French wine region.

The winemaker has done his best to combine the familiarity of a Chardonnay with the characteristic qualities of Tariquet and the Côtes de Gascogne. For example, 30% of Domaine du Tariquet Chardonnay has been lightly aged in oak, so that its fruity character is beautifully preserved.
