Vallformosa GALA Brut Nature Reserva is an excellent sparkling wine from the renowned Vallformosa winery in the Penedès region of Spain. This wine is made from a carefully selected blend of Chardonnay and Xarello grapes. The result is a fresh and creamy wine, making it the perfect accompaniment to any special occasion.

The rich history of Vallformosa

The Domènech family's winemaking tradition dates back to 1865 and reached its peak in the early 20th century, when the phylloxera plague struck and the vineyards had to be completely replanted. Vallformosa, located in the municipality of Vilobí del Penedès and headquartered in La Sala, aims to produce only the highest quality wines. To achieve this ambition, the winery owns eight estates across the Penedès DO region, in addition to La Sala. This diversity allows the company to select the most suitable vine varieties for each type of terrain and microclimate, ensuring the finest fruit. The Chardonnay and Xarello grapes are harvested entirely by hand. After harvesting, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16 degrees. The wine then undergoes a second fermentation in bottle according to the traditional method, during which the bubbles are naturally created by the presence of sugar and yeast in the bottle. Finally, the Vallformosa GALA Brut Nature Reserva is aged on its lees for an average of 28 months.

Vallformosa GALA Brut Nature Reserva has a beautiful appearance, with a light yellow color and green highlights. The aroma reveals fruity and complex aromas of pear, apple, citrus, and floral notes. The nose combines with toasted notes and nuts, which emerge from contact with the lees. On the palate, the wine is powerful, fresh, and creamy, with good acidity. Fresh fruit aromas linger on the nose, and the wine has a long, dry, and very pleasant finish. This wine is ideal for pairing with rice, seafood, ham, and cheeses, as well as with desserts and all kinds of dishes made with white meat and/or poultry.
