Founded by three visionaries: Athanase Hennequin de Villermont, Paul Renaudin, and Jacques Bollinger, the winery has lived up to its promise of excellence ever since. Located in the picturesque village of Aÿ, Bollinger's rich history is as fascinating as its champagne, with roots stretching back to the American Revolutionary War!

In 1911, Georges Bollinger's British agent suggested the name Special Cuvée—the English "special," without the French accent. A fitting name for a champagne that stands out from the crowd.
