It's a true family winery that has invested heavily in recent years, including its vineyards and a completely renovated winery. There's a new press, and the cellar is equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Today, Michael Larnaudie is the fourth generation's winemaker. They have approximately ten hectares of vineyards, part of which they sell to none other than Louis Roederer. The remaining half is used to produce their own Champagne, so we think we've discovered a real gem.

The old Premier Cru vineyard Larnaudie Hirault

This brut tradition is made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier grapes, all in precisely equal parts. All the grapes used come from Premier Cru vineyards, allowing this Champagne to bear the Premier Cru designation. The vineyards are spread across the Champagne region, namely in Trois-Puits, Taissy, Montbré, and Sacy. The climate here is perfect for the grapes; abundant sunshine and cool winds contribute to the even maturation of the bunches. After a long season, these are finally harvested by hand and carefully transported to Larnaudie-Hirault.

Storage for the Larnaudie Hirault Brut

After blending the three grape varieties, the bottle is stored with yeast and sugar in Larnaudie Hirault's cellar. Michael ages the bottles for at least three years before selling them; this long period is crucial for this Champagne. This results in a top-class Champagne, and the results are immediately apparent upon pouring. It has a beautiful light golden color with very soft bubbles. Its aroma is intense, reminiscent of citrus, minerals, gooseberry, and a hint of floral notes. The palate is overwhelming, full-bodied, and very smooth! Very soft bubbles caress the palate, releasing flavors of apricot, citrus, roasted nuts, and a touch of fresh lime. Because multiple winegrowers are involved with this winery, it has a claim to the finest grapes available. A great deal of time is spent in the vineyard, and this is clearly evident when you stand among the vineyards in Salento. The grapes are carefully collected into small crates, ready to be transported to the press in San Marzano. The grapes come from the best vineyards in Languedoc, with abundant sunshine and a fresh sea breeze creating a superb climate. Since 1791, the Miquel family has cared for the Cazal Viel estate, formerly managed by the monks of Fontcaude Abbey. The land surrounding the house was very fertile and was used for hunting and winemaking. However, at that time, the wine yielded little, and the family gained little wealth. Almost 200 years later, in 1970, these vineyards were extensively cultivated with Syrah, and thus winemaking began. In 1980, Henri Miquel released his first vintage. Today, Laurent Miquel is the owner of this renowned estate and is considered one of the best young winemakers in the South of France. Inspired by his father Henri's passion and dedication as a top winemaker, he is successfully following in his footsteps. To celebrate Royal Tokaji's 20th anniversary, the winery has been completely renovated. Designed by leading Hungarian architect Csaba Bodonyi, it houses over 1,000 oak barrels for aging and has a stainless steel tank capacity of 2,700 hectoliters. It has already been hailed as the most important in the Tokaj region for its environmental credentials.

Rather than selecting individual berries shrivelled by botrytis, Late Harvest relies on partial cluster selection, which includes naturally ripe, overripe, and botrytis-affected berries. This combination of different stages of ripeness within the cluster gives the berries a distinctive Tokaji character, but doesn't require the long aging of aszú wines. The harvested clusters are then pressed, and the rich must is fermented in the same way as the dry wines, maintaining a balance of sugar and natural acidity. Late Harvest spends approximately three months in barrels, using some new barrels. The topsoil consists of sand and stones, which drain quickly and warm during the day to optimally ripen the grapes, while cool nights preserve freshness and structure. Remontage is the gentle circulation of must or young wine over the skins to extract color, aroma, and soft tannins. The wine is then aged for five months in French oak with medium toast. What does Roble in Toro mean and what effect does it have on the flavor? Roble indicates that the wine is aged briefly in oak, in this case for several months, which gives it subtle spiciness, a rounder texture, and extra length without losing the fruit. Wine made from frozen grapes. They must be picked and processed while frozen. In Austria, as in Germany, the must weight must be at least equal to that of a Beerenauslese, and the grapes must be picked from the vine. This is a risky process, as only about 10% of the initial quantity of grapes reaches the bottle as wine.

First-class grapes for Eiswein Gelber Musakateller

This dessert wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety: Yellow Muscat. Only premium grapes were sourced for this wonderfully elegant, single-varietal wine from Angerhof Tschida. The grapes grow on sandy and black earth soils. The Gelber Muskateller Eiswein is an Old World wine through and through, as this Austrian exudes an exceptional European charm, clearly underscoring the success of Old World wines. The grapes are positively influenced by the climate. They thrive in a relatively cool climate, which is reflected in, among other things, exceptionally long and uniform grapes.

The grapes are taken to the press as soon as possible after being harvested by hand. Here, they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the Gelber Muskateller Eiswein can continue to harmonize on the fine yeast for several months.

The delicious aromas of Eiswein Gelber Musakateller

This Austrian dessert wine boasts delicious notes of star fruit, Gallia melon, and mango. We also detected hints of cocoa bean, cinnamon, and black tea. It has an incredibly fruity flavor. On the palate, this light-hearted dessert wine is characterized by an extremely dense texture. With its vibrant fruit acidity, the Eiswein reveals itself fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this dessert wine from the Burgenland wine region ultimately convinces with a remarkable lingering finish.
