Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA's ambition is to produce the world's finest wines, each in its own category. The wines of the Baron Philippe de Rothschild family business are as much a work of art as they are a product of technical expertise.

Pauillac Baron Nathaniel is made primarily from grapes from the family's three grand crus. This is also supplemented by carefully selected grapes from Pauillac. Pauillac Baron Nathaniel is made from the classic Bordeaux grape variety. Cabernet Sauvignon (80 percent) finds its finest, perfect expression in this soil and climate. It allows for the development of incomparable aromas and tannins, which give the wine its character and aging potential. Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot (10 percent) give the wine its elegance, and Merlot (10 percent) provides the supple fruit.

The vinification of Baron Nathaniel Pauillac

Baron Nathaniel is made using traditional Bordeaux techniques. After the grapes are selected, destemmed, and pressed, alcoholic fermentation takes place between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius. The wine is macerated for about fifteen days to develop the fine aromas. Malolactic fermentation then takes place in barrels to give the wine more body. Baron Nathaniel is blended at the Saint-Laurent-Médoc estate. The wine is partially aged in wooden barrels for about eight months. After refining and bottling in the second year, the wine ages for a long period in the estate's cellars. Forward-looking tannins, ripe and round, give it a refined structure with plenty of body and length, and a long finish with elegant oak.
What unparalleled beauty is this powerhouse from Pauillac—we're talking, of course, about Château Baron Pichon Longueville. The wine was first labeled with this name in 1966 and has been further developed over the years. We can certainly tell, it's an exceptionally beautiful wine with great diversity. None other than Francois Pinault owns the château, who purchased it in 1993. He had several buildings renovated and created a new winery. The name Rothschild has been inextricably linked to wine for a century and a half. The grandfather of pioneer Baron Philippe de Rothschild founded the winery. Philippe himself began producing the widely available Mouton Cadet wines in 1930. He initially started from Pauillac, but he continued to innovate. Today, they have beautiful vineyards in many locations, both in France and abroad.

The vineyards of Mouton Cadet Reserve Pauillac

Mouton Cadet Reserve Pauillac is made from grapes sourced from the finest soils in the commune of Pauillac. This commune has its own appellation in the Médoc, the most enchanting part of Bordeaux. Nestled between Saint-Estephe and Saint-Julien, it finds itself in excellent company. With this Mouton Cadet Reserve Pauillac, Baron Philippe de Rothschild wanted to pay tribute to his grandfather. Well, wine connoisseurs are unanimous: he more than succeeded. This red wine from Mouton Cadet is a classic, one we still fall in love with today.

Impressions of Mouton Cadet Reserve Pauillac

The three classic grape varieties—Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot—work beautifully in Mouton Cadet Reserve Pauillac. These three grape varieties make an excellent team, not only in Pauillac, but throughout Bordeaux. As soon as you pour Mouton Cadet Reserve Pauillac into your glass, the enjoyment begins. Our oenologists look forward to that moment every year: when they can dip their noses into the new vintage of Mouton Cadet. The oak aging is clearly discernible. You'll clearly recognize robust notes of leather and tobacco. A fruity touch of blackberry and blackcurrant. A hint of oak tickles your nose. The taste is exactly what you'd expect from a Pauillac: complex, robust, and powerful. Beautiful, delicate notes tantalize your taste buds. This wine is exactly what Baron Philippe de Rothschild envisioned.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0594/9358/0879/files/mouton-cadet-reserve-pauillac_11652.webp?v=1770196445
le-pauillac-de-chateau-latour-2017
Le Pauillac de Chateau Latour 2017
The Le Pauillac de Château Latour is a superb red wine. The château is currently owned by the Frenchman Francois Pinault. Situated on the southern edge of Paullac in the Bordeaux region, the estate boasts 78 hectares of vineyards. It has a centuries-old tradition, with vines planted there as early as the 14th century. Three wines are produced on the estate: the Grand Vin, Les Forts de Latour, and this Pauillac de Latour.

The young vines for Pauillac de Latour grow on less prestigious terroirs in the vineyard. The blend consists of 45 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 54 percent Merlot, supplemented by just 1 percent Cabernet Franc. The grapes are carefully harvested at optimal ripeness and brought to the winery for selection and pressing. Temperature-controlled fermentation follows, and finally, the wine is aged for several months in oak barrels.

The smell and taste of Le Pauillac de Chateau Latour

With a dark red color, the Le Pauillac de Château Latour appears in the glass. It boasts aromas of blackberries, blueberries, plums, and blackcurrants. These fruity notes are enhanced by notes of chocolate, black tea, and cocoa beans. A dry red wine with a balanced texture on the palate, silky and slightly meaty. The finish is lingering, with lovely acidity and a refreshing earthy note.
