Kaiken therefore decided to take on a new challenge. The Andes Mountains, just a stone's throw from which Kaiken Wines is located, provided the inspiration to search for the true Andean Malbec. During this search, they discovered three perfect microterroirs. This combination results in a wine with beautiful fruit aromas and an elegant and fresh taste.

Unique vineyard at the foot of the Andes

The Argentinian winery Kaiken was founded in 2002 by winemaker Aurelio Montes. They have three vineyards in Mendoza and one in Salta. These vineyards vary greatly in altitude and weather conditions, allowing Kaiken to cultivate a variety of grape varieties and produce fine, high-quality wines.

Valle de Canota is a valley at the foot of the Andes. The climate here is warm and dry, and the soils are poor in nutrients. These conditions give the wine a high concentration of fruity aromas. The wine retains its elegance and freshness thanks to the cool nights. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and selected in the winery. Pre-fermentation takes place for four days at a controlled temperature. This is followed by seven days of fermentation in concrete tanks. Maceration takes place after fermentation and lasts for 20 days. Finally, the wine is aged for a further 12 months in concrete tanks and six months in the bottle before release.

The smell and taste of Kaiken Aventura Chacayes Canota

With a deep red color and hints of purple, this Kaiken Aventura Chacayes Canota radiates in the glass. The aroma is exquisite. Wonderfully complex with aromas of cocoa, eucalyptus, and licorice. These notes are enhanced by notes of clove and vanilla. On the palate, a fresh attack with pleasant tannins. Notes of red fruit and slightly spicy notes blend together. A round and silky wine with a juicy finish.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0594/9358/0879/files/kaiken-aventura-chacayes-canota_13808.webp?v=1771589270
kaiken-aventura-chacayes-sur
Kaiken Aventura Chacayes Sur
If Argentina is proud of anything, it's their Malbec. One such wine is this Aventura Chacayes Sur, a fresh and floral wine with superb structure.

Manual harvest for Kaiken Aventura Chacayes Sur

The Malbec grapes for this wine come from Los Chacayes, as the name suggests. The vineyards are situated on the beautiful slopes of Arroyo Grande at an altitude of 1250 meters above sea level. Winters are harsh and summers can be exceptionally hot. The sandy loam soil allows the roots to penetrate deep into the ground. The grapes ripen evenly here, thus retaining their freshness.

The Malbec grapes are harvested entirely by hand at peak ripeness. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are hand-selected for quality. A four-day preferential fermentation at a controlled temperature follows. Fermentation then takes place in concrete tanks for seven days. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally, also in concrete tanks. Finally, the wine is aged in these same concrete tanks for 12 months. The wine then ages in the bottle for another six months before release.

What does the Kaiken Aventura Chacayes Sur taste like?

The wine has a deep red color with purple highlights. Upon pouring, it initially releases aromas of star anise, white flowers, and fresh plums. Later, fresh aromas of blackberries and strawberries emerge. The palate is smooth with medium acidity. Soft tannins combine with notes of dried flowers, figs, and dates. A delightful tasting experience that continues into a pleasant finish.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0594/9358/0879/files/kaiken-aventura-chacayes-sur_13809.webp?v=1771589270
kaiken-aventura-chacayes-norte
Kaiken Aventura Chacayes Norte
If Argentina is proud of anything, it's their Malbec. The vineyards are situated on the beautiful slopes of Arroyo Grande at an altitude of 1250 meters above sea level. Thanks to ancient river deposits, the soil consists of sand, loam, and calcareous stones. Summers can be very hot, but thanks to the location, it cools considerably at night. This allows the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, without losing their freshness.

The Malbec grapes are harvested entirely by hand at peak ripeness. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are hand-selected for quality. A four-day preferential fermentation at a controlled temperature follows.
